Frequently asked questions. Check back soon as this page is regularly updated!

Do I need to sign a waiver to race?

All participants must complete the electronic waiver to compete. Athletes under 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Waiver Link: https://forms.gle/AfF9vbE1pp8ASC5B9

Do I need a USRowing membership to participate?

No, as this regatta is not USRowing sanctioned. We are not insured by USRowing so their stipulations, including membership and coach certification, do not apply. We have our own insurance and all participants will need to sign the above waiver.

When are the races?
The event schedule will be posted as soon as possible after the entry deadline. Event times are approximate and subject to change. Schedule may be compressed if there are no competitors entered in an event.

Can I race more than once?

Yes! Racing multiple times is permitted but only if it does not affect the order of events; We cannot change the schedule to allow double rowing.

Am I allowed to have someone with me during my race?
Competitors may have one Coach/Coxswain seated behind their erg during their race.

Will I be able to warm up before my race?

Yes, there will be a designated area with several warmup ergs and other equipment available for use.

How are medals awarded for each race?
Events with 4 or more entries will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals. Events with 3 entries will receive 1st and 2nd place medals. Events with 2 or fewer entries will receive 1st place medals. Masters events will be awarded based on age-adjusted times, calculated using the USRowing handicapping system. Medals are based on overall times, not times per heat.

When is lightweight weigh in?
Lightweight weigh-in will be held throughout the day of the race. Athletes must have a wristband certifying they have weighed-in to be able to race.

How long are the races?
All events, unless otherwise noted are 2,000 meters. Coxswains and Middle School events are 1,000 meters. The Arshay Cooper First Responders Challenge Cup is a 2000m relay (4 participants row 500 meters each).

How do I protest a race result?

Any protest or objections need to be addressed to the Chief Referee immediately following the race.
